About Woodland Farms
Our family has raised Irish Wolfhounds for nearly 20 yrs. My late mother, Linda Schade, owned & operated Hounds of Aquarius up until her death in 2006. Woodlands Farm is carrying on the tradition & bloodlines she worked so hard and long to establish: dogs with wonderful temperment, good health & of competitive quality.

Irish Wolfhound Puppies
While Irish Wolfhounds eventually grow up to be big couch potatoes, as puppies they are extremely active and require a great deal of exercise, much more than anyone can give them even on frequent and long walks. The also need to be able to run, faster than any person can run, on natural, not manmade, surfaces in order to develop properly. A Wolfhound puppy denied daily access to a large area to run and play in, can and will be extremely destructive. With daily access to a large fenced area, Wolfhounds are not especially destructive puppies. For these reasons, we require all potential new owners of our Wolfies to have a large fenced yard. It cannot be stressed enough that without a large fenced yard neither you nor your Wolfie will be happy and that this is NOT the breed for you.
A few words about “limited” and “full” AKC registration: “limited” registration is for those persons wanting a pet only. Dogs with limited registration only cannot be shown in confirmation classes at AKC dogs shows, although they can compete in and earn titles in obedience classes. The offspring on dogs with limited registration cannot be registered with AKC. People purchasing a puppy with limited registration only, are strongly encouraged to spay or neuter their pet.
Full registration means a dog can compete in all AKC sponsored shows and matches. People who purchase a dog with full registration can register their dogs’ offspring with AKC, provided they choose to breed their dog with another AKC registered dog of the same breed.
At Woodland’s Farm only those puppies we believe show promise of being of good enough quality to successfully show are offered with full registration. However, all of our puppies are offered as pets only, with limited registration only, as we believe all Wolfies have the potential to make someone a wonderful pet. Because we have many more clients seeking pets than we do clients seriously interested in showing and/or breeding, many wonderful show quality puppies are placed in “pet only” homes. Just because you buy a “pet only” puppy, does not, in our opinion, mean you should settle for a less attractive dog or one that does not conform to the breed’s standard, however, when you choose to purchase a puppy with full registration, with the intentions of showing and/or breeding, we believe you should get the best we have available. Whether you choose to purchase a Wolfhound from us or another breeder, it is extremely important that you be honest with the breeder about your intentions so that he or she can help you pick out the puppy that best suits your needs and plans.

Havanese
The newest members of our family are our Havanese. I've never considered myself a "little dog person" but I must admit these wee fuzzballs are quite adorable. See photo album. 
We have only 1 pair of Havanese, so puppies are not available often.
